Every death recorded. What was lost, given back — never twice.
Demo
Z-ARK is required. Z-Death only runs with Z-ARK, our free server manager: Z-ARK installs the plugin and renews its licence every day. Without Z-ARK, the licence expires within 7 days and Z-Death stops giving anything back (nothing is deleted).
What it looks like in Z-ARK
Every death on the cluster, players and tamed dinos, with its cause, place and what was carried:
The give-back panel: tick the items, see exactly what would come back, then give it back now or when the player returns:
Z-Death records each player death on your ARK: Survival Ascended servers: cause, place, creature, and the full inventory carried at that moment.
- A preview shows exactly what would be given back
- If the player is offline, it is given back on its own when they return — once
- Never a duplicate: a body still full blocks the return (or is removed if the admin forces it), and what the player already recovered is not given back
- A Discord bot posts every death, with an "Inventory" button and a "Give back all" button for admins only
Requires Z-ARK (free)
Z-Death works with Z-ARK, our free server manager: Z-ARK installs the plugin from its dashboard, keeps its licence check up to date on its own and fetches each new version.

- Licence: €3 / 3 months or €10 / year — https://z-ark.fr/en/#pricing
Compatibility
ARK: Survival Ascended dedicated servers on Windows. Built and tested against AsaApi 2.03.
External connections and data
- No network connection of its own. Z-Death opens no connection and sends nothing anywhere: no web request, no telemetry, no update check. The Discord messages about deaths are sent by Z-ARK, which reads the plugin's files; the plugin never talks to Discord.
- Licence check, done on your machine. The paid functions run only with a valid
licence.zarkfile in the plugin folder. Z-ARK writes it: a pass signed (Ed25519) for this machine, valid 7 days and renewed every day. The plugin checks the signature itself, offline, with a public key built in. To match the machine it reads the WindowsMachineGuid(registry, read-only), and it writeslicence.statenext to it (the latest date seen, to detect a clock moved back). Without a valid pass the paid functions stop and say why in the log and inZDeath.Status; nothing is deleted and the server keeps running. - Files written, in its own folder:
captures/, one record per death and per periodic snapshot (player name and EOS id, tribe, cause, map and position, killer creature, the items carried);suivi-corps/, the bodies and death bags still in the world (to never give back twice);en-attente.json, the give-backs waiting for an offline player. Old records can be removed withZDeath.Menage. - Files read: its own
config.jsonandlicence.zark. - No external program started, no other data collected.
Dependencies and limitations
- Requires Z-ARK (free) and a Z-ARK licence for the paid functions; the screens (death list, preview, give-back) are in Z-ARK.
- Game hooks: the death of a player and of a tamed dino, the death reason sent to the player, the death bag drop, item removal from an inventory, and the destruction of bodies (to follow what the player already recovered).
- Restores always show a preview first; a body still holding the items blocks the give-back unless the admin forces it, which removes the body.
Built with AI, knowingly
Z-ARK and its plugins were written with an artificial intelligence, by someone from the trade who decides every feature, reviews it and tests it on a real cluster with real players before it reaches you.
