Well hello all! I'm Harry, otherwise known as Noita. I'm a Javascript developer from USA who's focus resides mainly in NodeJS, VueJS, MongoDB, REST, Electron, and some others I may be missing. My education is in Cyber Forensics and Network Security which I use about 5% of in my current profession as a Systems Analyst haha, but I suppose that's usually how it goes. A lot of my work is in business applications for the company I work for, ETL, EDI, File building/transmogiforing/other stuff like that, on the personal side however I adore making systems talk... (Which i suppose you could say i do a lot of in my professional work as well hah.) I am a discord bot developer, hardcore. I wrote the Odexes bot, a private inhouse bot for my BDO guild which managed all gearscore, progression, level and authentication for the discord server. I also wrote a few discord bots for Albion that handled API calls to their webservices and a few game services I'd extrapolated from the client runtime. Other than those two bots, my other worse are mostly customized management and service bots that do specific and personalized things other bots do. Many of my "clients" prefer not to have bots spanning many or massive servers in their own channel, or prefer to have a controlled service they host themselves, so that's what I aim for usually. I love cool quirky new features I haven't thought of as it means I get to use my super power of problem solving to figure out how to implement them in a way people will enjoy(ego boost which i don't need). I'm rather new to C++ but I have a passion for development, code and programming ESPECIALLY when it comes to videogames. It really helps that NodeJS(Which is my primary tooling/framework) is mostly C++ backend, so I'm not 100% new, but not even half way in i'd say? if that makes sense :) PS. I live for chaos, it acts as a brain stimulant for problem solvers like me haha. Not the drama type though, please no drama

My name is Thom / Tekcor, I'm not actually an API plugin dev, I got invited here because I'm the author of a server config tool called Beacon. I might look into writing a plugin to interface with Beacon if I get the right inspiration. I can write just about anything for anything, though I really like to write developer tools. Spent a few years developing a tool called Xojo. My current job is much less interesting, so Beacon is where my creativity goes.

I believe in strong friendly word to word agreements and support the underdogs. We have offered and did services but not limited to: Military veterans, PTSD patients, Mental disorders patients and much more.

Goals

My goal in life and in this discord community is to create a legacy and create a friendly environment where people can come together and work together to achieve a higher goal in life. Now that I've checked that off the bucket list, I want to get back into programming and build some cool stuff for Ark! I used to be a web developer and was a consultant for tons of companies like Best Buy, Honeywell, Cargill and more. It was a while back, but I worked with C#, Java, SQL Server... I love being nerdy and teaching myself new skills like Photoshop, photography, Japanese, and of course programming. Basically anything that tickles my brain. I ran a large 15,000 member gaming community before, and since then started up an ecommerce store that grew so fast. Sold that, and now I am here with ARKade. I love helping people and making communities happy! My plans now are to add enough staff to help me run the server, so I can geek out and get up to speed on the latest in web programming and like many others here, maybe even pick up C++ and build some plugins. Hi , my name is Dany(DealTime) , i'm 31 years old, gaming since I'm 5-6 years old, starting in programming script for my private server of Ultima Online in 2000, I'm not a programmer, I'm working at Ubisoft as a Technician IT, but I always loved the programming and the possibility to do whatever you want to your computer. I already programmed in LUA for GTA V RP, I cannot start a script/plugins/mods at the bottom but I certainly can read language. I have some bases in C++, Python, Java, HTML, CSS, PHP, MYSQL, . Hi guys, fellow ark player and software engineer here. I have about 5 years of dev experience with OOP in C++, Python, and some Java but little to no experience in modding/plugin development. I am currently doing full-stack web development (professionally) so pretty well versed in those concepts. I am hoping to spend some time digging through the general/plugin-discussion to get a better understanding of how the API works and getting used to a harder-typed language again (been using Python for the last 2 years in work env). Hoping to make a plugin that will allow a player into the next server in the cluster after they have completed certain tasks. The tasks would be (configurable) all explorer notes, all artifacts, all bosses, etc. Could be a bunch of options.

Should be fairly straight forward, once completing tasks, adds player to Exclusive Join list of next server in the cluster.

you could probably bundle that with an exclusive join plugin that works with mysql

I'm in Australia. Played a LOT of Ark and really enjoy the game. A few years ago I made some mods in the dev kit (like Reusable Plus, Dino Colors Plus, etc) and I have recently found out about Plugins. I have coded in C and Java before, but not since University. I'm comfortable with MySQL and PHP so I am hoping I can get my head around C++ with a bit of Google Fu. I'm hoping to start with a simple plugin that makes an Ark PVP Leaderboard. I want to start by tracking bullets fired to make a leaderboard for a PVP server of who has fired the most bullets and what tribe has soaked the most bullets. If anyone has tips for getting started I am all ears

figured id post one of these to say hi and give a little background for people to forget. im a techie, interested in pretty much anything technical but focused on security, specifically working with crypto. not cryptocurrency, just cryptography. worked with various languages over the past decade, some more than others, but unfortunately limited experience in c++...somthing ive definitely remedied in the past few weeks! been running a (probably small scale in comparison to everyone else) ark server for a few years now, decided to dive in and write my own plugin(/s) to fit a niche for my community. nice to see the authors of plugins / code ive been using in here talking about whatever

hey all. I'm josh, i play ark a lot and i've written a lot of c++ in my time. i'm happily no longer professional but the itch to write code is always there. when i saw an ark api, i tapped my fingertips together in an evil fashion.

i downloaded the source code and got a lot from it but not enough. some of the code is documented, other bits are not. has anyne done proper documentation such as class hierarchy or do we have to cobble it together as we go along?

My favorite Linux Disto is Debian (With Mate if I am using the Desktop version, but most of my time is spent in the CLI), but I regularly use Ubuntu Server and sometimes CentOS also.
